Sandals are timeless pieces of footwear that remain to be well-loved by men and women alike all over the world. In fact, even some of the sandal styles dating as far back as the ancient times are considered as fashionable and trendy to this day and age.

Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to live in a place where they can wear a sandal no matter what time of the year it is. But one thing is for sure, those who cannot wear these all year long eagerly look forward to that day when they finally can.

It doesn’t matter where you live though because the following types of sandals have long been considered as classics. These styles serve as inspiration for different variations that set the trends in footwear fashion. You can buy them at Infashion shop.

Flip Flops

There is no denying that flip flops are very popular and easy to find no matter where you are in the world. They come in crazy cheap prices but are highly functional. They are also available in various styles and made out from different materials aside from the usual rubber and plastic.

Flip flops also come in a range of styles, starting from the most basic to the most elaborate ones. The style of flip flops is also imitated in some other sandal types such as the wedge. All in all, flip flops can be considered as the most versatile sandal out there.

Sports Sandals

The most rugged sandals, sports sandals often feature comfortable soles, multiple straps that can be adjusted to get the perfect fit, and are waterproof. This particular type is great for running, walking, or even playing at the beach. These are also good if you have to run errands all day where lots of walking are involved.

Everyday Flats

Yet another versatile type, everyday flats are best characterized by their somewhat thin sole that is less than an inch with no or little elevation at the heel. They may have a thong sandal or not. However, they can have more straps compared to flip flops that include at the heel and maybe another strap or two crossing the top portion of the foot.

Dressy Flats

Dressy flats usually have very thin sole as well as spaghetti straps or something more decorative. There are also dressy flats adorned with connecting rings or metal buckles. These are available in a plethora of colors although the dressiest ones are white, metallic, or black patent. Dressy flats are usually paired with dress slacks. There are also times when you can wear them with dresses and skirts, particularly during summer months.

Wedge Sandals

This sandal type is a perfect choice for casual footwear in the office because it is still dressy enough. They have a wedge sole that can be a single height similar to platform shoes or tapered lower in the front and higher at the back part just like traditional heeled shoes.

There is a misconception that you might end up breaking your neck if you wear these wedges. However, the truth is that these footwear pieces are quite stable and even very comfortable, much more so than high heels.

Their base is larger and their foundation is also better for balance all in all.

Gladiator Sandals

This is a sandal type that will surely give you a major throwback vibe. Originating from none other than ancient Rome itself, actual gladiators wore these footwear pieces themselves. For some inexplicable reason, this very retro sandal fashion continues to come back in a new form or variation every several years or so. These have been quite hot during the 60s and even in the past few years.

The thing about gladiators is that you cannot just categorize them as either casual or dressy. But, what is sure here is that they can make a big statement whatever the occasion or setting might be.

Slides

Slides often have several narrower straps or a single wide strap over the bridge of the foot at the back of the toe area. Slides are similar to flip flops and the only difference is that they feature a strap and not a thong. Since there is nothing to hold the piece at the heel, it is important that you find the perfect fit for you.

Slides are also crossing in other styles as well. Most of these are worn casually by women and men alike. This casual use might be because most of these slides are manufactured by popular athletic shoe companies.

However, slides that feature wedge soles or higher heels can also be used as casual footwear in the office that can complement all types of outfits. There are slides that are also outright dressy like those that have rows of spaghetti straps that cross the foot’s bridge.

Dressy High-Heeled Sandals

Dressy high heeled or stiletto-style types of sandal are also a hot trend, particularly for those who have the guts to wear them. Topnotch fashion designers adore this style and a proof of that is the fact that they have been grazing the runways a lot these days.

Casual Mid-Heeled Sandals

This type is something that many people simply love because of its comfort and versatility. You can wear them with pants or dresses and are also perfect for beach getaways or afternoon weddings, which depends on your clothes, that is.

Women, particularly older ladies who won’t or can’t wear heels that are very high really love the flexible style of this type.

Similar to wedge sandals, casual mid-heeled have great potential as office casual footwear. You can wear these pieces at work and when taking a stroll with no need to worry that you will break your neck.

Probably the main reason why these different sandal styles are still around these days and continuously get fresh variations through the years is because of their ability to keep up with the latest shoe trends. And of course, there is that undeniable fact that people simple love wearing sandals.
